So happy to learn who she is because it’s the Tumblr I most often recommend people follow. It’s a perfect pairing of hilarious web content + behind-the-scenes of the Today Show (with some extra cheeky commentary).

Curious who runs the TODAY Show Tumblr? It’s me - Rina! And yes, I often dress like I’m 5!

ofakind:

If you’re a fan of The TODAY Show’s style coverage, you should get to know Rina Raphael—she’s the fashion and features editor over there. She’s also a serious shopper who’s as into toddler style as brocade. And it’s okay if you’d like to replace the BFF she describes below—we feel you.

Q: What are the essential pieces of your wardrobe?

A: Working at The Today Show, you have to be peppy and excited to go to work every day. For me, there are a few items that help with that. A flared skirt in a forties silhouette—that’s my daily staple. A statement necklace—that, to me, makes an outfit. A very bright blouse—I like Gymboree-inspired prints and rainbow hues.

Q: Describe your most exciting purchase ever.

A: I found two wonderful brocade pieces in Daha Vintage. It’s such a forgotten, fabulous, thick, majestic, royal fabric. Those were real finds.

Q: What’s a typical Rina Raphael night out?

A: I’m usually indoors, curled up with a magazine and a gin and tonic! When I do go out, it’s pretty much based around food: dinner near my neighborhood—lately it’s Fat Radish or BaoHaus—followed by honey-lavender gelato at Il Laboratorio del Gelato. And don’t be surprised to find me hovering around Stanton Pizza at midnight.

Q: Who’s your most stylish friend?

A: My best friend Merisa—I feel very lucky that she is, because I have a partner in crime and someone to go to Loehmann’s with on the weekends. She’s very bohemian and mostly wears purple. If I ever got married, she would be the chief advisor on the dress.

Q: Of the Of a Kind editions that you own, what’s your favorite?

A: I’m tempted to say the bunny bag, but everyone’s favorite edition is the bunny bag. I think my favorite is actually the linen tie that I got, even though I don’t wear it half as much as my other ones. A tie is a challenge. I wear it with a vintage brown tuxedo suit in a really soft, feminine material, and whenever I do, people think it’s adorable.
